John's Guide to Milwaukee golf.

Here is my guide to Milwaukee area golf. Obviously it does not include all the courses in the area. It just contains the courses that I have played. I have played some courses more than I have played others, and so I have more comments on some courses than others.

My comments are also based on my game, and my biases. Currently, I am shooting about in the low-80's on average difficulty courses. I have a decent all around game, but need a little more consistency. I believe that golf should be reasonably priced. If a course costs a lot of money to play, it better be worth it. I also think that everybody who is physically able to walk 18 holes should walk the 18 holes, as it will improve your game, keep the course in better condition and speed up play.

I have a few general comments on golf in the Milwaukee area. The typical golf season lasts from sometime in April to sometime in October. The Milwaukee County Park System does a very good job of maintaining their courses. In fact, I tend to find that the county courses are in better shape than many of the private daily fee courses in the area. The county courses are also of varying difficulty, and so beginning golfers can steadily increase the level of difficulty of the courses they are playing.

Below I have my comments for various courses.
