Antelope Island, Utah

Antelope Island is an island in the Great Salt Lake. I am working on a project with Adolph Yonkee and graduate students Kim Johnson and Amy Nachbor to study deformed diamictites that outcrop nicely on the island. The diamictites are part of the NeoProterozoic Mineral Fork formation. They were deformed due to thrusting during the Sevier Orogeny.

Eric Horsman and Adolph Yonkee begin their walk to the outcrops.

Watch out for wildlife!

Terra investigates the deformation.
