In 2007, I sampled some deformed conglomerates on the island of Islay in Scotland. The island was fantastic- full of kind people, beautiful scenery, fun rocks, and pleasant distractions.

Dyanna is collecting samples from the Scarabus quarry (deformed conglomerates).

The view from the quarry shows rolling farm fields with hidden rock outcrops.

Nice piece of conglomerate.

A big competent granite cobble within the conglomerate.

Most common "wildlife" on Islay.

Most photographed "wildlife" on Islay.

When we were done collecting at the quarry, we saw other parts of the island. The waves by Portnahaven were fantastic.

The most delightful distraction on Islay. Such hardship.
