Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee

Supporting the Nonprofit Community On-line

Orientation to this site

Purpose of these pages

Local nonprofit organizations will be a critical partner in the development of community based telecommunications. This site is being built to support effective use of Internet by nonprofit organizations in Milwaukee and in other communities. The site is being developed by the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee (formerly M.A.U.D.), an association of 240 nonprofit organizations in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin region. The Data Center program at the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee has been offering training and technical support to nonprofit organizations exploring telecommunications options.

All sections of this site explore the potential of Internet as a tool for local communities and nonprofit organizations. Some are general efforts to make Internet more accessible for serious use. Some are very specific to neighborhood GIS work developed in Milwaukee over the past four years. Most importantly, this material is posted to encourage communication with others doing similar work. Please leave comments, suggestions and a description of your work.
