Develop theoretical algorithms and experimental techniques to determine the structure of individual biological molecules by X-ray and electron scattering.

Measure the fundamental parameters for solid-state processes such as diffusion and ion-implantation at the atomic level.

Use electron holography to map and measure the internal electric and magnetic fields in the bulk of materials and devices with nanometer resolution and 10-millivolt sensitivity.
